When will you know the practice schedule?

Practice schedules depend on gym availability at Basin Recreation Fieldhouse, which finalizes its scheduling for peak winter months only 1–2 months in advance.

Boys Club (practices Sept–Dec): We expect to have a confirmed practice schedule by early August, ahead of the placement session.
Girls Club (practices Jan–May): We expect to have a confirmed practice schedule by early December, before the season begins in January.

We'll communicate schedules to all placed athletes as soon as they're confirmed.

How many spots will be on each team?

Each team will have 10-12 spots available.

Which teams will you offer this year?

For the Boys Club 2026 season, we are hoping to field one 15s team and one 18s team.For the Girls Club 2026-2027 season, we're hoping to field 4 age group teams this year — tentatively 12s, 14s, 16s, and 17s — but the final age bracket offerings will depend on how many players we get at each age and which groups can form complete teams.***Please note that your athlete's age group eligibility will be based on their age on July 1st at the end of the season. So a 10-year-old trying out in October of 2026 with a birthday on March 3, 2027, would qualify for an 11s team.***

How many tournaments will the teams play in?

Accepted Answer

Once we finalize the rosters and age division grouping for the teams, we will sign up for tournaments from the AAU tournament schedule. All younger teams can play "up" in age groups (ie: a PCJ 13s team could play in a 14s tournament), but older teams cannot play "down."

We plan to have each team compete in at least 4-5 tournaments across their respective seasons.

Question 5

Are the teams organized by age or grade? Which age group should I sign my young 9th grader up for?

The teams will be organized by age and ability level; academic grade level has no relevance to the AAU age brackets. Please have your athlete attend the placement session with her age-group peers, irrespective of academic grade level.

Question 6

What is your policy on cell phones?

Accepted Answer

Unless an athlete is dealing with a unique situation in which they need to be on call, the coaches expect all athletes to keep phones and other devices (smartwatches, etc.) stowed in their bags until the session has ended.

If there is some sort of emergency going on and an athlete needs access to their phone, just let the coaches know.

Question 7

What should I bring to practice?

Please plan to wear athletic clothing that you can easily move around in, bring a hair tie if you need one, and bring water!

For indoor volleyball sessions, please plan to bring knee pads and athletic shoes.
