Frequently asked questions
We are very fortunate to use the space at Basin Recreation Fieldhouse for our practices. They have accommodated all of our programming since we first started offering indoor programs in the fall of 2024. However, in an effort to make sure various internal and external programs get a fair opportunity to use the space, Basin creates their gym schedules for their busiest winter months only 1-2 months out. That means that we will likely receive a confirmed gym schedule for the tournament tames practicing January - May, 2026 in late November/early December 2025.
For our Foundations teams, we will submit our gym request in January/February of 2026 and hope to receive confirmation in late February/early March.
Each team will have 12-14 spots available.
Right now we're hoping to offer at least 2, maybe up to 3 age-group teams for the 2025-2026 girls season. The teams we end up fielding will depend on the ages of the girls who attend the placement session. If we have 10 talented 15/16 year olds, we will have a 16s team. If we have 25 committed 13 year olds, we might have two 13s or 14s teams. We are hoping to be flexible in response to who shows up and is excited to play!
Once we finalize the rosters and age division grouping for the 2025-2026 teams (hoping for mid-October, 2025), we will sign up for tournaments from this AAU schedule. All younger teams can play "up" in age groups (ie: a PCJ 13s team could play in a 14s tournament), but older teams cannot play "down.:
The teams will be organized by age and ability level; academic grade level has no relevance to the AAU age brackets. Please have your athlete attend the placement session with her age-group peers, irrespective of academic grade level.
Unless an athlete is dealing with a unique situation in which they need to be on call, the coaches expect all athletes to keep phones and other devices (smartwatches, etc.) stowed in their bags until the session has ended.
If there is some sort of emergency going on and an athlete needs access to their phone, just let the coaches know so that we aren't left thinking that your child is scrolling through TikTok during their water break.
Please plan to wear athletic clothing that you can easily move around in, bring a hair tie if you need one, and bring water!
For indoor volleyball sessions, please plan to bring knee pads and athletic shoes.
For sand volleyball sessions, you won't need kneepads or sneakers, but you'll need extra water, sunscreen, sunglasses and a towel to wipe yourself off after the lesson.
