Boys Club

Park City Juniors Boys Club
2026-2027

Our Boys Club is our competitive track for male athletes who are ready to commit to a structured fall season of training and tournament play. Club athletes practice 2 times per week and compete in tournaments across the greater Salt Lake City area throughout the fall.

Season Overview

For the upcoming season, we are planning to field up to two tournament teams: an 18s team and a 15s team, depending on interest and the ages of the athletes who come through placement. As with all of our club teams, each roster will be built to be complete and balanced — 1–2 setters, 2–3 middle blockers, 3–4 pins, and 1–2 defensive specialists or liberos — with 10–12 athletes per team to maximize playing time at every tournament.

Practices are expected to begin in early September and run through early December.

Tournament Schedule

Our Boys Club teams will compete in 4–5 tournaments throughout the season, and the final schedule will be confirmed closer to the season start.

Placement Session

We hold one placement session in August (a registration link will be added here!). All athletes interested in joining a Boys Club team are welcome.

We want to be upfront about what placement means for a competitive program: roster spots are limited, and depending on interest, we may not be able to extend an invitation to every athlete who attends. We take the evaluation process seriously and do our best to give everyone a fair look — but each team has a fixed number of positions, and we're building complete rosters. If your athlete isn't offered a spot this season, we hope they'll continue developing through our Foundations program or summer camps, and try again next year.

We know that putting yourself out there to try out for a team takes real courage, and we have nothing but respect for every athlete who shows up. Delivering difficult news is the hardest part of what we do, but it's a necessary part of running a competitive program.

Age Group Eligibility

Our tournament teams are organized using AAU age brackets, which are determined by your athlete's age on July 1st of the current season — not by academic grade or school year.

For the 2026–27 season, the relevant date is July 1, 2027. The age your athlete is on that date determines which bracket they compete in.

Because we are hoping to offer a 15s team and an 18s team this season, here's how eligibility works:

  • 15s team: Athletes who will be 15 years old (or younger) on July 1, 2027.

  • 18s team: Athletes who will be 18 years old (or younger) on July 1, 2027. Athletes who will be 16 or 17 on that date are eligible to play up to the 18s team.

Two important rules that govern all AAU play:

  • Playing "up" to the next age group is allowed. A younger athlete may always compete with an older age group.

  • Playing "down" is not allowed. An athlete may not compete in an age group younger than their AAU-determined bracket.

Because we are not fielding 16s or 17s teams this season, athletes in those brackets who want to participate will be considered for the 18s team. Similarly, 14-year-olds interested in playing would be considered for the 15s team.

Quick math: Subtract your athlete's birth year from 2027 — that's their AAU age for this season. If the result is 15, 16, 17, or 18, there may be a spot for them on one of our teams.

Practice Locations

Our practices are held at Ecker Hill Middle School or the Basin Recreation gym.

Season Pricing

We aim to keep our programs competitively priced for the region. Estimated costs for the upcoming season are as follows:

  • Base season fee: approximately $1,400-$1,800, depending on final scheduling and season duration

  • Uniform package: approximately $200 (one-time)

  • Tournament fees: approximately $35 per player per tournament, billed throughout the season

Pricing is subject to change. Final fees will be confirmed ahead of the placement session.
